The member of Grammy-nominated rap group is now 'in a good spirits' after he was shot in the leg during a robbery and kidnapping effort at his Atlantucky Brewery in Atlanta, Georgia.

AceShowbiz - Nappy Roots member Fish Scales is recovering from injuries sustained during an ambush. The Georgia native has assured his fans that he's doing okay after he was robbed, shot and kidnapped at his own restaurant in Atlanta.

On Thursday, August 18, members of Nappy Roots turned to their rap group's Instagram account to share an update of Scale's recent condition. Along with a photo of the founding member flashing a peace sign while laying in a hospital bed, the group wrote, "We again want to thank everyone for the support and prayers for our Brother @nappyscales ….he wanted to let everyone know that he is in good spirits and can't wait to get back to the music and @atlantucky brewing… THANK YALL AGAIN and KEEP IT NAPPY!!!"

Earlier that day, Nappy Roots released a statement regarding the scary incident. "Last night our brother, Scales was a victim of an attempted robbery on the evening of August 17 in Atlanta after closing our brewery, Altantucky," read the post.

"We are blessed to say that he is stable and in good spirits after suffering a leg injury," it continued. "Luckily, none of our dedicated patrons of Atlantucky were at the scene or harmed during the robbery."

Nappy Roots added, "We are so thankful our brother is safe and on the road to recovery." The group then asked for "some privacy," noting that they're "trusting the Atlanta Police Dept in the ongoing investigation."

"Scales also mentioned he is looking forward to getting back to work both on music and brewery," the statement further read, before it concluded with, "Love and Keep it Nappy [folded hands and a beer emoji]."

Reacting to the kidnapping, robbing and shooting of his bandmate, Nappy Roots' Skinny DeVille told FOX 5, "Scales is my best friend and my brother and my business partner." He added, "I just said yesterday, if something happened to him, I'd be devastated, just like if something happened to me, he'd be devastated. … When I woke up this morning to the news, I was shocked. I didn't know what to do."

According to police officers, per TMZ, two suspects first robbed a customer in the parking lot before entering Atlantucky and forcing Scales into his car at gunpoint. The robbers then drove Scales up the road to his home in a neighboring suburb where he was able to escape but not before being shot in the leg during a struggle. Police were able to recover Scales' vehicle, but as of now, no arrests have been made.
