Champagne Papi isn't the only celebrity slammed for their carbon footprint as Kylie Jenner was previously under fire for allegedly taking her private jet for short flights.

AceShowbiz - Drake isn't letting social media trolls attack him over his transportation of choice. The Canadian superstar has shut down critics accusing him of ruining the environment with short plane trips.

Recently, the Twitter account Celebrity Jets revealed that Drake's private jet flew from Toronto to nearby Hamilton. The account tabulated that the 70-kilometre flight had used up 1,522 litres of fuel, putting out roughly 4 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

The estimated flight time was 14 minutes, while it would take 43 minutes on a road trip. Records show his massive Boeing 767 jet also recently logged two other flights from Toroto to Hamilton, coming in at 18 minutes and 16 minutes.

"It's extremely wasteful," Ian Borsuk, climate campaign co-ordinator for Environment Hamilton, told The Hamilton Spectator of the short flights. "As a single person, he's probably emitting more on one flight than most people who make that drive emit in a month or even a year."

Over on Twitter, many users also slammed Drake. "Drake just flew 14 minutes on his private jet and made 4 tons of CO2 emissions. That's the same amount of emissions the average person makes in a year. It would have taken an hour to drive the same distance. This is criminal," one person wrote.

Another called out Drake's fellow Canadians as saying, "Canadians will complain about climate change then pay thousands to go to the next Drake concert, acting like he isn't taking his private jet on flights from Hamilton to Toronto."

Catching wind of this, Drake didn't stay silent. He clarified that the short trips were not to transport him, but were to store his plane instead. "This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics...nobody takes that flight," he wrote in the comment of RealTorontoNewz's Instagram post.

Drake responded to criticism of his short jet trips.

Champagne Papi isn't the only celebrity slammed for their carbon footprint. Kylie Jenner previously also came under fire for allegedly taking her private jet for short flights. According to @CelebJets, "The Kardashians" star flew from Camarillo, California, to Van Nuys, California, earlier this month.

The estimated flight time was just three minutes as opposed to a road trip that would have taken just 40 minutes. The page later clarified that the total flight time ended up being 17 minutes. Flight records also show that the mother of one takes regular flights amounting to less than 15 minutes each.

The discovery led to many Twitter users branding Kylie "a full time climate criminal." The makeup mogul has not responded to the claims.
