The 49-year-old, who co-produced the song with Bryan-Michael Cox and Dvsn member Nineteen85, takes to Twitter to respond to the backlash of the new track.

AceShowbiz - Jermaine Dupri has come to Dvsn's defense. When reacting to backlash over the Canadian R&B duo's latest track "If I Get Caught", the "Welcome to Atlanta" rapper called the trolls "musically blind."

"The people I see with something bad to say about 'If I Get Caught' I'm sure have never listened to blues," the 49-year-old, who co-produced the song with Bryan-Michael Cox and Dvsn member Nineteen85, wrote on Twitter. "And if you never listened to blues.then you're musically blind in my book and you can't see what we did."

The Saturday, July 23 post unfortunately backfired. Some Twitter users dubbed the tune "sexist" and "toxic," with one writing, "N***as can't be repping toxicity AND sounding like a horror movie. Pick a struggle."

Others, meanwhile, took issue with the song's production. What does this have to do with how bad it SOUNDS? Like, we don't need special ears to know the song f**king SUCKS. FYI, I was classically trained as a trumpet player in Jazz & Blues," an individual argued.

"I studied blues! But this was not good," a different person chimed in. "Get inventive with the lyrics next time. Use metaphors, similes, etc. Create a STORY. Where is the lyricism?"

Dvsn released "If I Get Caught" along with its official music video on Friday. On the track, which features a sample of Jay-Z's 2001 hit "Song Cry", Nineteen85 and Daniel Daley suggest that cheating on a partner has nothing to do with not loving them in some cases.

"If I get caught cheating, that don't mean I don't love you," Daniel Day sings in the chorus. "… I know, I know you ain't gon' let one little f**k mess all this up/ Don't let one mistake take all this away."

Jay-Z himself has weighed in on "If I Get Caught" ahead of its release. "I didn't think one could make a song more toxic than Song Cry. I stand corrected," the hip-hop mogul wrote. "I just want a disclaimer that says that I said this song is wrong! Haaaaa And you're good!"
