Along with the trailer, Marvel Studio also reveals that the first five episodes of the upcoming shorts series will premiere on August 10, just a week before 'She-Hulk'.

AceShowbiz - Fans finally get to see Groot in action in the "I Am Groot" trailer after a pretty long wait. On Friday, July 22, Marvel Studios unveiled the first official trailer for the upcoming shorts series at the San Diego Comic-Con.

The minute-long "I Am Groot" trailer showcases some of the adorable adventures that the "Guardians of the Galaxy" fan-favorite character will go on. It also shows Groot interacting with other alien life forms and providing them with nutrients from a leaf that he farts out of his behind. Other clips shown include Groot exploring a giant spaceship, dancing with a gelatinous clone of himself and dressing in moss clothing.

Along with the trailer, the studio also confirmed that the first five episodes of the series will premiere on August 10, just a week before "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law". While the release date was announced earlier when the first poster for the Groot series was released, the latest update confirmed that five more episodes are being worked on and will be released sometime in the future.

James Gunn previously confirmed that "I Am Groot" is not a part of his "Guardians of the Galaxy" saga. "They are animated shorts so not necessarily part of the Guardians saga," the "Guardians" helmer and "I Am Groot" producer confirmed on Twitter in June. In a follow-up tweet, he added that the shorts are "canon to themselves, I'd think."

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Groot first appeared in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy," which saw the character sacrificing himself to be replaced by his son, Baby Groot, which grew as a sapling out of his body.

"I Am Groot", which marks the second animated MCU series to premiere on Disney+ after last year's anthology series "What If…?", is set to explore Baby Groot's adventures across the galaxy away from the Guardians, as he meets new characters and finds himself in perilous situations. Vin Diesel returns to provide voiceovers for the series. Meanwhile, Bradley Cooper will provide the voice of Rocket Racoon, with other characters expected to return.
