The actor, who portrays Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee on 'Pam and Tommy', comes under fire after tagging Pamela and her ex in his gratitude message after receiving the nod.

AceShowbiz - Sebastian Stan is beyond excited to earn his first nod at Emmy Awards thanks to "Pam & Tommy". Unfortunately, the nomination sparked outrage since it was previously reported that Pamela Anderson felt "violated" by the show.

Upon seeing his name in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category on Tuesday, July 12, the 39-year-old took to Instagram to express his gratitude. "So grateful and thrilled to be a part of this EPIC PAM AND TOMMY recognition!!!" he gushed.

After congratulating the showrunners directors, hair and makeup team and costumers, Sebastian thanked her co-star Lily James. "@lilyjamesofficial, my partner till the end of the lineā€¦I was blessed to be opposite you, couldn't have, wouldn't have done it without you! Thank you for holding my hand on this journey!" he raved.

"#PAMANDTOMMY is about a crime that took place without Consent," the actor, who portrays Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee on the show, continued. "It was a crime on privacy, a crime on love, a crime on family, and a crime that we were ALL a culprit of, as media and audience combined, and it's now more timely than ever."

Sebastian further elaborated, "I hope this can only help continue the conversation we had hoped to bring to light, and that we can remember to re-examine our projections and our salacious attitudes not only towards @pamelaanderson and @tommylee, but also towards ourselves and our exploitation of one another. SEE YOU AT THE EMMYS!!!"

While Sebastian was happy with the recognition, many took issue with it ."Funny how my 'salacious attitude' didn't make me star in a show further exploiting Pam, who explicitly stated she was not for this production. Tone deaf moronic a**hole," one person wrote on Reddit.

"He has quite the balls to speak about consent, something Pamela did not give to this show," another individual argued. "Poor Pamela. He actually tagged her. Wtf," someone else fumed, before one person replied, "For real, that was actually a nasty thing to do."

"Pam & Tommy" itself is a contender for the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series at the 2022 Emmy Awards. As for Lily, she is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie while Seth Rogen is up for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
