The SKIMS founder, who turned heads at the May 2 event in borrowed Marilyn Monroe's 1962 'Happy Birthday' dress, previously claimed that she had to lose 16 pounds in less than a month to fit in the gown.

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's personal trainer reacts to the criticism received by the TV star over her weight loss for the 2022 Met Gala. In a new interview, Don-A-Matrix claims that "The Kardashians" star lost 16 pounds in three weeks in the "healthy way."

"I think one of the misconceptions is - she works really hard. I was there through the process and it wasn't like a starving yourself type of thing," Don-A-Matrix revealed to TMZ on Wednesday, May 4. "I mean, she's been on a balanced diet. At times, she wouldn't eat as much, but the second thing is she really put the work in."

The fitness guru went on to note that the SKIMS founder, who turned heads at the Met Gala in borrowed Marilyn Monroe's 1962 "Happy Birthday" dress, didn't engage in any unhealthy behavior during her weight-loss journey. He explained, "We were working out sometimes twice a day. It's possible to lose 20 pounds in a healthy way."

During a red carpet interview with La La Anthony at the May 2 event, Kim admitted that she had to lose weight to wear the ensemble. "It didn't fit! So, I looked at them and I said, 'Give me, like, three weeks,' " the mom of four recalled, adding that she lost 16 pounds in less than a month. "It was such a challenge, it was like a role. I was determined, I was determined to fit in it."

The revelation earned the TV star criticism on social media. Among those who slammed her was Lili Reinhart, who wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, "To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven't eaten carbs in the last month…all to fit in a f**king dress?" The "Riverdale" actress went on to call it "so wrong. So f**ked on 100s of levels."

"To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala," the "Swimming Lessons" author continued. "When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting."

Lili later clarified that her comments were meant to criticize toxic diet culture instead of personally attacking the cosmetic mogul. "Sigh. I do not say the things that I say because I want to be relevant or get attention," she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. "I speak up because I don't see enough people with large platforms calling out toxic behavior in our industry. Some people will never understand where I'm coming from and that's okay."

Kim, meanwhile, has yet to directly respond to the controversy. The girlfriend of Pete Davidson, however, shared a cryptic message on Instagram Story which read, "Be teachable. Be open. You're not always right."
