The actor portraying Nick Young in 'Crazy Rich Asians' will star alongside previously announced cast members, including the 'High School Musical' actress, Ed Harris, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein.

AceShowbiz - Henry Golding has signed on for a role in "Downtown Owl", a drama film from Sony Pictures' Stage 6 Films. The "Crazy Rich Asians" star will star alongside previously announced cast member, Vanessa Hudgens.

On Thursday, April 14, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the 35-year-old actor will star in the adaptation of Chuck Klosterman's New York Times bestselling novel "Downtown Owl". The project is the directorial debut of Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater. According to the outlet, Henry will appear alongside Vanessa, Ed Harris, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein as well as Lily. The project is currently filming in Minnesota.

Hamish penned the screenplay based on Chuck's novel, which takes place in the fictional town of Owl, North Dakota, which is semi-isolated from the 1980s pop culture that surrounds it. The story follows three residents, an old man who spends his afternoons reminiscing in the local coffee shop, a depressed high school backup quarterback and a new English teacher at the local high school, whose lives, along with those of the town's other residents, are upended by a white-out blizzard.

Bettina Barrow and Lily will produce for Kill Claudio Productions, along with Rebecca Green and Hamish. Laura Rister, Lee Broda and Joel Michaely are executive producing, while Tom McLeod is co-executive producing. T Bone Burnett will be handling the music.

Eric Charles and Elizabeth Graver are overseeing the project for Stage 6 Films. Three Point Capital is financing the project, which was a part of the Sundance Institute Creative Producing Summit and Talent Forum.

Best known for his turn as Nick Young in Warner Bros.' "Crazy Rich Asians", Henry will next be seen in Carrie Cracknell's adaptation of Jane Austen's "Persuasion", with Dakota Johnson, Suki Waterhouse and Richard E. Grant as well as Camille Delamarre's action film "Assassin Club", with Sam Neill and Noomi Rapace. He'll also appear in the Paramount animated film "The Tiger's Apprentice", which is set to be released in December 2023.
