The 'Dance Moms' alum claims she suffered head and shoulder injuries after being pinned in her chair for 6 to 12 minutes before she was rescued by two hotel staffers.

AceShowbiz - Abby Lee Miller is suing a hotel over a falling door accident in 2020. The former reality TV star has filed a lawsuit against the Hampton Inn & Suites in Santa Monica, claiming that a hotel door fell on her and pinned her for nearly a dozen minutes.

The alleged incident happened when the "Dance Moms" alum was staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Santa Monica back in August 2020. At the time, she wheeled herself into the bathroom of her room, TMZ reports.

According to docs obtained by the site, Abby, who has been confined to a wheelchair since her lymphoma battle left her paraplegic in 2018, was leaving the bathroom when her back left wheel got caught under the sliding bathroom door. When she attempted to break free, the 300-lb door came crashing down and struck her.

The 56-year-old said she was pinned in her chair and stuck in the doorway. She claimed she screamed for help, but had to wait for 6 to 12 minutes before she was rescued by two hotel staffers. She was then taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and has head and shoulder injuries as a result. She says that she still undergoes physical therapy to treat the injuries.

As if that's not terrible enough, Abby claimed the laundry room was not accessible to wheelchairs, housekeeping carts often blocked the hallways and she was not able to open doors to the pool and gym possibly due to her disability during her extended stay at the hotel from March to October 2020.

The former dance instructor is suing the hotel's parent corporation for negligence, emotional distress, discrimination and false imprisonment. She is asking for a minimum of $8.5 million compensation.
