AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle is crowned as the smartest British royal family in a study. The study, which was conducted by Oxford Royale, has named the Duchess of Sussex as the "most intelligent British royal" considering her academic background.
The education company examines the royal family members' performances in high school and how their colleges rate via the QS World University Rankings. The "Suits" alum takes the top spot as she went to prestigious school Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, which sits at No. 30 on the QS World Rankings for 2021.
Additionally, the wife of Prince Harry received a double degree in theatre and international relations back in 2003. That would eventually land her a role on "Suits" and other projects.
Joining Meghan in Top 5 are Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge is at No. 2, while her husband and Duke of Cambridge follows in at No.3. Kate and William went to Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England, and later attended University of St. Andrews. However, the Duchess had higher marks than her husband.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Princess Eugenie and Peter Phillips who are at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.
"Life as a royal isn't always an easy job and involves a lot of dealing with extensive scrutiny and life in the public spotlight, and Meghan Markle's academic strengths have equipped her perfectly for this role," an Oxford Royale spokesperson told New York Post on Friday, December 25.
The spokesperson added, "While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have resigned from their roles as working royals, they have captured the interest and attention of the world, and Meghan's desire to use her platform to raise awareness over serious world issues reflects her intelligence, analytical mind and educational pedigree."
According to the company, Prince Harry is not included in the list of top 10 from Oxford Royale because he didn't attend college.
