Also speaking up in the wake of the fatal festival are Kendall Jenner, who attended the show with Kylie Jenner, and Megan Thee Stallion, who pledges her support after the tragedy struck her hometown.

AceShowbiz - Drake has finally broken his silence on the fatal Astroworld 2021 Festival that left eight people killed and many others injured. The Canadian star, who performed at the Saturday, November 6 event, released a statement via Instagram two days after the tragedy.

"I've spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy," Drake began writing on his Story on late Monday. "I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself."

"My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering," he added. "I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can, May God be with you all."

Also taking to the social media platform to express her grief was Kim Kardashian. "Absolutely heartbroken for the lives who were lost and anyone who was hurt at Astroworld," so the reality TV star, whose sister Kylie Jenner was at the event in support of her on-and-off boyfriend Travis Scott (II), posted.

"Just like all of you, our family is in shock by the tragedy," she continued, before showing her support to the "Sicko Mode" rapper as adding, "We are keeping all of the victims, families and loved ones impacted in our prayers for healing as well as Travis who we know cares so much about his fans and is truly devastated."

Kendall Jenner, who attended the festival with Kylie, released her own statement at around the same time. The model wrote, "I'm still at a loss for words over the news from Astroworld. I'm truly broken for the families that have lost loved ones and my prayers go out to everyone involved. Sending everyone who has been affected all my love and wishing them strength during this incredibly devastating and sensitive time."

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion has revealed how the tragedy, which hit her hometown, affected her. "Houston is my hometown. It has a special place in my heart. I feel terrible," she told ET while attending Glamour's Women of the Year Awards on Monday night.

The "WAP" emcee went on pledging her support to those affected by the tragedy as saying, "Whatever we can do, I want to help. I want to support. Always. That's my duty. That's what I gotta do. And we're just sending prayers and we're sending condolences. And we're sending positive energy to everybody and their family."

Travis and Live Nation have been hit with lawsuits by several concertgoers, who called the tragedy "predictable and preventable." Drake is named as a co-defendant in one of the lawsuits.
