Dionne Warwick Hugs It Out With Her Impersonator on 'Saturday Night Live'

The singing icon makes a surprise appearance on 'The Dionne Warwick Talk Show' skit during the latest episode of the NBC series, where Ego Nwodim plays her in a recurring sketch.

AceShowbiz - Music icon Dionne Warwick has made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" to chat with the woman who plays her in a recurring sketch, Ego Nwodim.

The 80-year-old hitmaker has previously expressed her approval of Nwodim's impersonation on "The Dionne Warwick Talk Show" skit, and on Saturday (November 6) night's TV episode, she showed up to share the love in person.

After Nwodim interviewed musical guest Ed Sheeran - as well as Pete Davidson, who was playing rapper Post Malone, and host Kieran Culkin, who appeared as singer Jason Mraz - she announced, "I'm tired of interviewing people who are not icons."

She then said, "Please welcome, me!" and the real Warwick took the stage to wild applause as the two, who were wearing similar sparkling ensembles, hugged.

"I'm so excited for you that I'm here," Warwick quipped.

"Dionne, why are you perfect?" Ego's Warwick asked the real star, a cousin of the late Whitney Houston.

"Darling, I'm not perfect, I'm just very, very good," Dionne replied.

The sketch ended with the two duetting on the Grammy winner's 1966 hit song "What the World Needs Now Is Love".

A sweet snap of the comedienne and the legendary singer hugging was also shared to the official "SNL" Twitter account.

Dionne later thanked Ego and fellow cast member Punkie Johnson, who often plays her niece in the skit, tweeting, "I had fun at @nbcsnl Thank you to @eggy_boom (ME ), @Punkiejohnson (as @BrittaniWarrick), and to the writers, cast, and crew. I had a wonderful time with you all." She added a string of heart and star smiley face emojis.
