The 'Jolene' hitmaker is officially scheduled to make a guest appearance on the upcoming last installment of the Netflix series starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

AceShowbiz - Dolly Parton will finally reunite with her "9 to 5" co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the last season of their Netflix show "Grace and Frankie".

Fans have been begging for the stars to get together again on screen, decades after their hit 1980 workplace comedy, and bosses at the streaming service have now confirmed the special get-together is on.

"Yes, it's finally happening. Dolly Parton will appear in the seventh and final season of Grace and Frankie," Netflix chiefs wrote in a press release on Friday (05Nov21).

"No further character or plot details are available at this time," read the statement, which also noted production on the 16-episode season wrapped last week (ends29Oct21).

The final season of the hit series was confirmed in 2019.

"We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season," Jane and Lily said at the time.

"We're so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! We'll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we'll still be around. We've outlasted so many things - just hope we don't outlast the planet."

Four episodes from season seven are already available to watch, but the remaining 12 will be released some time in 2022.

When it ends with its 94th episode, "Grace and Frankie" will have made history as Netflix's longest-running original series.
