In new papers filed by his lawyers, Jamie Spears is said to have been happy to pass on any correspondence or paperwork relating to his role as his daughter's financial guardian.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears' father has given up fighting the pop star over her conservatorship and has filed to end his role as her financial guardian for good. Jamie Spears was suspended as Britney's conservator - a job he held for 13 years - in September 2021, following allegations he bugged the singer's bedroom so he could listen in on private conversations.

Now, in new legal documents, he is making it clear he wants nothing more to do with his daughter's affairs - and he's making a new plea to end the conservatorship deal for good.

"Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop. As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her. For the last 13 years, that included serving as her Conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship," his lawyers state in the new papers, obtained by TMZ.

The filing goes on to explain Jamie is not seeking any further compensation and he is happy to pass on any correspondence or paperwork relating to the conservatorship in order to walk away from his former duties for good.

"This conservatorship should end," he adds. "Now. There is no reason for another second of delay. Jamie is willing to stipulate to the immediate termination of the Conservatorship without reservation or exception."

The filing came hours after Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, released his own legal update, demanding answers from Jamie over the reports suggesting he installed recording and listening devices in the pop star's bedroom.

He claims Jamie is urging the judge overseeing the singer's conservatorship to end the arrangement, so he doesn't have to face a deposition concerning his actions.
