The star of docu-series 'The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst' has been indicted for murdering his wife, a couple of weeks after he got a life sentence for killing a friend.

AceShowbiz - The subject of hit docu-series "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst" has been indicted for killing his wife, Kathleen, just two weeks after he was handed a life sentence for fatally shooting a friend.

Robert Durst, 78, was hit with the second-degree murder charge by a grand jury in the case of 29-year-old Kathleen Durst, who vanished from the couple's Westchester County, New York home in 1982, according to the New York Post. Her body was never found and Robert divorced her in 1990, claiming abandonment. In 2017, she was declared legally dead.

The District Attorney re-opened the unsolved case surrounding her disappearance in May (21), and announced recently she would present it to a grand jury.

Durst was sentenced to life behind bars in Los Angeles last month (Oct21) for the 2000 murder of Susan Berman, who prosecutors claimed was about to go public about Kathleen Durst's murder.

Durst claimed he drove her to a train station and later spoke to her on the phone on the day she vanished, but in 2015's "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst", the property millionaire admitted he made those details up.

He was convicted of first-degree murder following a trial where over 100 people testified. Robert also testified from a wheelchair and spent 15 days on the stand.

Susan's body was found in the bedroom of her Beverly Hills home in December 2000 after a neighbor reported her dogs were loose. She had been fatally shot in the back of the head. Officers determined there was no forced entry or sign of ransacking or a struggle. Her purse, with her ID and her cash inside, was sitting on the kitchen counter.
