One of the Bangtan Boys, Kim Tae-hyung, has been forced to sit out the band's dance routines as he performs from a chair during a virtual show because of painful calf muscles.

AceShowbiz - BTS star V performed from a chair during the K-pop superstars' virtual "Permission to Dance" show on Sunday (24Oct21) after injuring his leg.

The pop star, real name Kim Tae-hyung, sought hospital treatment for painful calf muscles on Saturday and doctors determined he should sit out the band's lively dance routines.

"It was the opinion of the medical personnel that while there was no issue affecting the bones in his legs, he should refrain from vigorous movement such as choreography or stage performance for the time being," a statement from the hitmakers' label Big Hit Music read.

"As a result, V will take part in the performance while seated and without choreography. We ask for your understanding. We will continue to place the highest priority on the health and safety of our artists and strive to ensure that all the members of BTS can meet their fans in full health."

V told fans, "I was fine yesterday, but I suddenly developed pain (my legs). I'm not mad. Iron legs!... Next time around, I'll take care of myself, I'll get better soon, and so that I can do better in the rest of the tour."

During the virtual concert, which was hosted on, Weverse, the social media platform operated by BTS's management firm Hybe Entertainment, the boy band performed hits including "I Need U", "Save Me", and "Idol", and closed with their English single, "Permission to Dance".
