When addressing her social anxiety, the 'Girls Need Love' singer explains that people with the issue 'have big loud fun personalities with the people they're comfortable with.'

AceShowbiz - Summer Walker has responded to a social media troll, who talked about her social anxiety. Taking to her Instagram account, the "Girls Need Love" hitmaker schooled the user and explained about her mental health issue.

On Wednesday, October 13, an Instagram user, pink.paradise305, commented on a post that saw the 25-year-old musician joking and playfully posing in front of a Chevy SUV with "Love & Hip Hop: Miami" star Sukihana. "Summer is getting over it & I love to see it," read the comment. Another user, in the meantime, speculated that the singer "is dealing with it with meds."

Responding directly to pink.paradise305, Summer explained, "It's actually the same, this is just what it looks like when I'm comfortable around friends & loved ones." The "Life on Earth" artist then took it a step further by screenshotting the interaction and posting it on her Instagram page.

"People with social anxiety have big loud fun personalities with the people they're comfortable with," Summer captioned the post. "I can't wait for someone to come out & explain how it works. I'm not shy nor am I on meds. If you got a stand offish vibe I just don't trust you yet."

In the comment section, many of her followers praised her. "I'm glad you finally spoke on this situation because these people were getting too out of hand discussing your social anxiety without even knowing you as a person or how social anxiety works [love]," one wrote.

There were also some users who could relate to her situation. "Thisss!! It doesn't even matter honestly, people always feel the need to try to 'make sense' of what they don't perceive as normal behavior," one shared. "I'm loud and extroverted af around my friends and people that I know and love, until then though, I'm just chilling and observing, quiet almost shy and that's completely ok."

"Thank you for always speaking on this a advocating for people like me because I'm LITERALLY the same way and people don't get it," another added. In the meantime, a fourth commenter quipped, "It's funny how people are telling her life when they don't know her."

Summer went public with her social anxiety in November 2019. At the time, she canceled half of the remaining dates of her "First and Last Tour" to focus on her health. "Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to finish this tour because it doesn't really co-exist with my social anxiety and my introvert personality," she said at the time.

The "Over It" star further expressed her feelings in the caption. "I truly appreciate all the support and love. As you know, I have been very open about my struggle with social anxiety," she wrote. "I want to continue to be healthy and to make music for y'all, so I have decided to cut down some of the dates on the tour. I hope you all can understand. I'm grateful for every single one of you, and I hope that you understand that wellness/mental health is important."
