Dwayne Johnson admits he could have handled his feud with 'Fast Five' co-star better after he caused 'firestorm' due to his public rant on social media back in 2016.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne Johnson regrets going public with his Vin Diesel feud, insisting fans didn't need to read about the "Fast Five" co-stars' rift.

The former wrestler took aim at one of his "candy a**" castmates in a since-deleted 2016 Instagram post, and it was later revealed he was talking about Vin.

Looking back at the note, Johnson accepts he could have handled the situation better.

"It caused a firestorm," he tells Vanity Fair. "Yet interestingly enough... (it was) as if every single crew member found their way to me and either quietly thanked me or sent me a note. But, yeah, it wasn't my best day, sharing that. I shouldn't have shared that."

"At the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don't share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bulls**t away from the public. They don't need to know that... I meant what I said."

However, he added, "For sure. I mean what I say when I say it. But to express it publicly was not the right thing to do."

Dwayne also opened up about the meeting he and Diesel had last year (20) to straighten things out, adding, "I wouldn't call it a peaceful meeting. I would call it a meeting of clarity. He and I had a good chat in my trailer, and it was out of that chat that it really became just crystal clear that we are two separate ends of the spectrum. And agreed to leave it there."

Earlier this year, the "Jungle Cruise" star announced that, following his 2019 spinoff with Jason Statham, "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw", he would not appear in any additional films in the blockbuster franchise.

In July (21), he said of the cast and crew of the hit series, "I wish them luck."
