Before talking about the murder of the 19-year-old TikTok personality, the famed host asks her studio audience of her talk show to 'clap' if they know who Swavy is.

AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams received huge backlash over her insensitive reporting on TikTok personality Matima Miller, who was more known as Swavy and Babyface online. During the Thursday, July 8 episode of her talk show, Wendy addressed Swavy's murder though it didn't sit well with some of Internet users.

Before talking about the matter, Wendy asked her studio audience to "clap" if they knew who Swavy was. As only a few of them clapped, the famed host then asked her employees if they were familiar with the TikTok star and they were not. Wendy later noted that the 19-year-old had 2.5 million followers on TikTok and had more followers than her on Instagram.

Immediately, Wendy was called out by Internet users who thought that she was being disrespectful towards the late star's family. "I have watched soooo many hours of Wendy Williams and for the life of me I can never predict when she does something like this," a user wrote on Twitter.

"Forget cancel culture...cancel Wendy Williams bruh. Wtf! Smh," another person added. One comment read, "wendy williams still the undisputed queen of the type of television they use in a horror/sci-fi movie to communicate that the world is a dystopian nightmare."

Someone else opined, "do y'all realize wendy williams is the same woman that spent years on tv telling people that britney needed the conservatorship and would use pics of her leaving the mental health facility as proof?? in my mind shes no different than people like perez who are suddenly on her side." Not really surprised, one Twitter user said, "I'm glad people are starting to see what a horrible person Wendy Williams is."

Swavy's family confirmed his death in an Instagram post on Wednesday. "On the behalf of our family, we would like to say thank you for the continued support and love for Matima Miller also known as Swavy or Babyface. It is with great sadness that we announce Swavy's passing on 07/05/2021. He was taken away from us due to a senseless act of gun violence," the post read.

"Unfortunately, due to legality we are not able to provide much information on the events surrounding his passing. However, the family is working diligently to get justice for Swavy. This is just the beginning, we will forever keep his name alive and continue his legacy! The impact he had on others remains unmatched out of respect for our family we ask that you please refrain from reporting false or unconfirmed information about Swavy," it concluded.
