The Duchess of Sussex's old friend, English radio personality Lizzie Cundy, claims she set the Duchess of Sussex with Ashley Cole back in 2013, though the soccer player wasn't interested.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle might not end up with Prince Harry should a British soccer star didn't pass her over. According to the Duchess of Sussex's old friend, English radio personality Lizzie Cundy, she set Meghan with Ashley Cole back in 2013, though the soccer player wasn't interested.

"Meghan said she loved London, and would love an English boyfriend, so I went through my phone to see who I knew that might be a good fit," Lizzie claimed to Grazia. The 53-year-old added, "I tried to find her a boyfriend."

Lizzie then divulged that she tried to get the former "Suits" actress, who is now married to Prince Harry, with Cole. Although Cole "wasn't so keen" on the idea, she revealed, "But I did try to fix her up, which is funny looking back."

She then weighed in on Meghan and Harry's relationship, saying that she could understand why Harry's smitten with the actress after meeting her at a party in the same year. "She was a real girl's girl: full of energy," Lizzie said of the mom of two. "She didn't stop talking, and we had a big giggle. There was just something special about her."

Further gushing over the duchess, Lizzie said, "We just got on, and immediately swapped numbers. I looked at her and thought 'You have something special.' She makes you feel at home straight away and it felt like I'd known her all my life. I can see why Harry fell in love with her."

Meghan and Harry are indeed now living happily in Santa Barbara, California with their two children. The couple welcomed their daughter, whom they named Lilibet Diana, on June 4. "It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world...," read a statement issued on June 6. "Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home."

Explaining meaning of the newborn's name, the press release continued, "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales." Lili joins her brother Archie, who was born on May 6, 2019.
