Along with a makeup-free selfie of herself, the former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star points out that she is 'done with the perception magazines and Hollywood try to make us in to.'

AceShowbiz - Shannen Doherty has learned to accept her natural looks. When calling out Hollywood's botox obsession, the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star urged women to "embrace" the beauty of aging in a motivational social media post.

The 50-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to post an unfiltered and makeup-free selfie of herself on Saturday, June 5. In the caption, she wrote a powerful message that read, "Watching movies tonight and noticed there were few female characters I could relate to. You know, women without fillers, without Botox, without a facelift. Women who embraced their face and all the experience it showed."

"I have lived. I love that I've lived and that my face reflects my life," Shannen continued her message. The "Charmed" alum went on to point out, "I survived a lot yes cancer but more than that. I embrace me now. Finally." She also stressed that she's "done with the perception magazines and Hollywood try to make us in to." Concluding her post, she penned, "I want to see women like me. Women like us."

Shannen herself was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Two years later, she announced she was in remission. In February 2020, she revealed that she had been fighting stage 4 cancer privately for a year. When breaking the news to "Good Morning America", the "BH90210" alum went on to admit, "I don't think that I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways."

Nearly a month later, the "No One Would Tell" actress reflected on her ongoing cancer battle in an Instagram post. Along with pictures of healthy food, she shared in the caption, "After a year of dealing with cancer coming back and other stresses, I'm back at it. Taking care of myself and embracing every day." However, she also stressed, "It's not always easy. I have days I'm depressed or just plain lazy. But I push thru with the help of friends."
