AceShowbiz - Claire Danes' husband Hugh Dancy has hilariously thanked her former one night stand for being an "inadequate lover," after the "Homeland" star revealed the evening made her realize her true feelings for her now spouse.
The actress revealed during a chat on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast that she had intended to enjoy the single life before meeting Hugh on the set of the 2007 movie "Evening". However, after going on a date with someone she didn't name, Claire joked she had her "palate cleansed," and she returned to work on the film and knew that she would end up marrying Hugh.
The British star responded to his wife's admission during an interview on SiriusXM on Wednesday, May 13, as host Michelle Collins asked him, "Do you have a response to your wife, who I'm sure is in the next room, about having to sleep without someone else to realixe that you, lovely Hugh Dancy, is the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with?"
Replying, Hugh said, "I can only say, I'm really glad that my wife chose to have a one night stand with an inadequate lover."
He also clarified that he and Claire weren't dating at the time of her one night stand with someone else, adding, "We were not in a relationship when that happened. She was single. I was single. We were both clearly thinking about it."
Claire and Hugh married in 2009 and share two children together.
