The actor playing Neal Caffrey in the crime drama series has reconnected with castmates, including Tim DeKay, Hilarie Burton, Willie Garson and Tiffani Thiessen, and creator Jeff Eastin, in a livestream.

AceShowbiz - Actor Matthew Bomer and his "White Collar" co-stars are all "really optimistic and hopeful" producers can find a way to revive the crime drama series for a TV return.

Bomer reconnected with a number of his old castmates, including Tim DeKay, Hilarie Burton, Willie Garson and Tiffani Thiessen, as well as creator Jeff Eastin, on Thursday night (May 07) as part of the "Stars in the House" livestreaming series.

During the digital reunion, they reminisced about their time on the hit show, which ran for six seasons until 2014, and shared the latest on speculation they are gearing up for a "White Collar" reboot.

A day before the charity event, Bomer and Eastin had told Twitter fans they had "a plan" to get the gang back together for another run, and on Thursday, the actor confirmed talks with TV bosses are underway, although discussions are still in the early stages.

"There is nothing I would want (more) than to be on a set with this group of people again," explained Bomer during the "Stars in the House" chat. "There are real conversations happening. There seems to be a lot of excitement about it."

However, he admitted it was unclear what format a potential revival would take. "What form that takes and how it plays out and whether all the creatives involved can work it out and make it happen is yet to be seen," he shared. "But we're all really optimistic and hopeful."

Bomer led the cast of "White Collar" as reformed conman Neal Caffrey, who is recruited to work with the FBI.
