South African actor Dumisani Dlamini, who starred alongside Whoopi Goldberg in 'Sarafina!', says the 'Juicy' rapper is lying about him never reaching out to her.

AceShowbiz - Doja Cat's father has spoken up after she opened up about her estranged relationship with him. Dumisani Dlamini, a South African actor, composer and film producer, refuted her claim that he never met her.
After he gained attention due to Doja's interraction with Whoopi Goldberg, Dumisani spoke to Metro FM during which he denied that he's a deadbeat dad. "I have been looking for my daughter as well," he said, claiming that he had tried to reach out to her before she rose to stardom.
Implying that his daughter was lying about the claim for media attention, he added, "You mustn't forget these Americans. Americans will always want to have something to cause a stir, so that she stays in the media and is talked about around the world."
Dumisani additionally blamed Doja's management team for not letting him have a contact with his daughter. "They know that if I could get hold of her, maybe she will disappear from the picture...I know my daughter, wherever she is, is looking for me," he argued.
The 56-year-old actor, who is best known for starring as Crocodile in Whoopi Goldberg's film "Sarafina!", added, "She got a hold of me. We spoke. We connected." He went on claiming that Doja's clip was made up, saying, "Now, at this time, when she is there and on top, she has to grab the whole world's [attention], especially in [South Africa] because she is South African and her daddy is here. It's a made up thing."
Previously when she met Whoopi, Doja told the veteran actress that she knows her father. "I'm just thinking about my dad 'cause he was in 'Sarafina!' so seeing you and meeting you is like the craziest thing," she confessed.
The 24-year-old singer noted how strange the situation was as she felt her only connection to her father was through her meeting with Whoopi. "I didn't get to meet him but you did," she remarked.
