Michael Lohan gets a two-year limited protective order after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute with estranged wife Kate Major.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan's father has escaped jail time after striking a plea deal in his New York harassment case.

Michael Lohan was arrested by authorities in Long Island last month (February) and accused of attacking his estranged wife, Kate Major, following a domestic dispute.

In a handwritten statement submitted to police, Major claimed Lohan lost his temper when she confronted him about his Internet search history, and began to throw plastic hangers at her, before allegedly grabbing her by the throat and threatening to stab her.

He denied the accusations, but subsequently managed to reach a deal with prosecutors and appeared in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday (March 10), when he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct, in exchange for having the choking and harassment counts dropped.

As a result, Lohan avoided a possible jail term, and was instead ordered to abide by the rules of a two-year limited protective order, banning him from threatening, harassing, or abusing Major, the mother of his two young sons.

He has also been fined as part of his punishment, according to TMZ.

Lohan previously insisted Major had fabricated the claims because she was mad at him for reporting her to cops after allegedly getting behind the wheel of her car while drunk.

She was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) just a day before Lohan was taken into custody. Major is due in court for her legal issue next month (April).

The former couple filed for divorce in 2018 after four years of marriage.
