The 'Irishman' director, the '1917' helmer, and the 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' filmmaker are pitted against one another at the upcoming Directors Guild of America Awards.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood heavyweights Martin Scorsese, Sam Mendes, and Quentin Tarantino will battle it out for the top honour at the 2020 Directors Guild of America Awards.

The trio is up for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Feature Film prize, alongside Bong Joon Ho ("Parasite") and Taika Waititi ("Jojo Rabbit").

Rookies Mati Diop ("Atlantics"), Alma Ha'rel ("Honey Boy"), Melina Matsoukas ("Queen & Slim"), Tyler Nilson & Mike Schwartz ("The Peanut Butter Falcon"), and Joe Talbot ("The Last Black Man in San Francisco") are up for Outstanding Directorial Achievement of a First-Time Feature Film Director.
