Sharing a picture of his bleeding ear on Twitter, the 'Stay Awake' hitmaker reveals that his toddler son left him with a perforated eardrum after 'shoving a cotton bud' into his ear.

AceShowbiz - Example was forced to pull out of a performance at Australia's Magnitude Festival on Sunday night (December 29) after his toddler son managed to leave him with a perforated eardrum by "shoving a cotton bud" into his ear.

The rapper, real name Elliot Gleave, took to Twitter earlier on Sunday to share a picture of his ear after the incident occurred, pleading with his followers to offer him some advice.

"Any advice on perforated eardrums? Has anyone had this before? My youngest woke me up today by shoving a cotton bud down my left ear. It's been bleeding on and off for about an hour," he wrote.

Example shares two sons with wife Erin McNaught - Evander, five, and Ennio, two.

And despite receiving some tips from his followers, it wasn't enough to help the 37-year-old musician push through the injury, as he later tweeted: "Gig is cancelled I'm afraid due to a burst eardrum."

Sharing the same news on his Instagram page, Example posted a selfie and wrote: "Unfortunately I've had to cancel my show tonight @magnumsairliebeach. My youngest shoved a cotton bud in my left ear this morn and perforated my eardrum."

While the news left his fans disappointed, they were also quick to offer the star well wishes for a speedy recovery, with one writing: "Damn, that's a shame, was looking forward to seeing you perform tonight. Hope it heals up soon for you man. (Id be hiding those earbuds)."

Others suggested Example should have gone straight to the doctors after the incident rather than turning to social media for advice, but the "Only Human" star replied: "I've had 3 doctors reply so it's been well worth it. I'm getting it looked at tmrw morn."
