AceShowbiz - Drake surprised his fans on Monday, December 23 when he released a new song entitled "War" along with its music video accompaniment. One line on the song particularly catches some people's attention, since they believe that the Canadian hip-hop superstar is talking about Rihanna.
On the song, Drake can be heard rapping, "The woman I do end up with has to be a bad girl just like Munchy." Most people must have known that Rih has "bad girl" nickname, prompting people to speculate whether Drake refers to the Barbadian songstress on the song. "Hearing Drake's new song I gotta say man loves Rihanna," one says, as another comments, "Drake still silently singing about Rihanna."
Drake and Rihanna have a rather complicated relationship. They were first rumors to be dating back in 2010, before the "God's Plan" rapper declared his love for the "Wild Thoughts" singer at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. However, in 2018, Rihanna revealed that they don't "have a friendship" during an interview.
Rihanna aside, Drake mentions several other big names on "War". Among them are Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. He also confirms that he has squashed his beef with The Weeknd. "OVOXO link up, mandem drink up, me and the drillers/ Hawk and Sticks and Cash and Baka, Gucci, P, and Gilla," he raps. "And the boy that sound like he sang on Thriller, you know that's been my n***a/ Yeah, we just had to fix things, 6ix tings, we can't split up."
Drake and The Weeknd have been engaged in an on-and-off conflict since 2011. Last January, the R&B singer seemingly sent shots at his fellow Canadian on "Lost in the Fire", on which he appeared to attack him for keeping his son a secret. "And I just want a baby with the right one/ 'Cause I could never be the one to hide one," he sang on the song.
