Speaking of DTA Records, the Blink-182 drummer explains he chose to partner up with Elektra Records for his new venture to continue branching out into hip-hop and other genres.

AceShowbiz - Rocker Travis Barker has celebrated the launch of his new label by releasing a song with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.

"Gimme Brain", the new collaboration with the hip-hop stars, is the inaugural track from the Blink-182 drummer's label DTA Records, a joint venture with bosses at Elektra Records.

Travis, who produced the beat for "Gimme Brain", wants to use his new venture to continue branching out into hip-hop and other genres, while also helping emerging artists build successful careers.

"I wanted a label partner that I trusted with true artist development," he tells Billboard of why he signed on to partner with officials at Elektra Records.

"As an artist, it's important to me that an artist's vision is protected at all costs. It's crucial that I'm able to look an artist in the eye and believe it when I say we can take them from a basement to an arena. Elektra's track record and belief are proof of that, and I'm stoked to continue to build that legacy together through DTA Records."

Barker has worked with a string of hip-hop artists in 2019 alone, collaborating on music with Lil Nas X, $uicideboy$, Lil Peep, Pharrell Williams, and 03 Greedo.
