A Texan man is locked up while waiting his sentencing as he is facing up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to stalking the 'You Need to Calm Down' hitmaker.

AceShowbiz - A Texan man is facing up to five years in jail after pleading guilty to stalking and sending threatening letters to Taylor Swift.
Eric Swarbrick, 27, was arrested in Tennessee last September 2018 after allegedly menacing the star by expressing intentions to rape and kill her, and was accused of attempting to hand-deliver threatening letters addressed to Taylor at her then record label in Nashville, Big Machine.
On Monday, October 28, he pleaded guilty to the charges, and will remain in custody until he is sentenced in March 2020. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each of the two counts.
Beginning in January 2018, Swarbrick sent at least 40 letters and emails to the singer, and began contacting label CEO Scott Borchetta and begging him to introduce him to Swift.
On three occasions, Swarbrick drove to Nashville himself to personally deliver the notes, and he also admitted to wandering the offices.
A judge had previously ordered Swarbrick to stop contacting the "You Need to Calm Down" star immediately, and issued a restraining order banning him from going near her or her properties.
The singer has fallen victim to several stalkers throughout her career, with a man arrested outside her Rhode Island home back in August, claiming he wanted to marry the pop star. He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation but no charges were filed.
