Prior to this achievement, the RM-led group has been recognized as the first K-Pop act to top Billboard albums charts, and has held the title for most YouTube video views in 24 hours.

AceShowbiz - K-Pop superstars BTS (Bangtan Boys) have racked up another Guinness World Record thanks to their popularity on social media platform TikTok.

The stars joined the video app on September 25, and it took them just three hours and 31 minutes to reach one million followers - setting a new record in the process.

The speedy milestone was made official by Guinness World Records bosses on Wednesday, October 23.

It's the latest accolade for the group - the singers also hold the title for most YouTube video views in 24 hours for their Halsey collaboration "Boy with Luv", which amassed 74.6 million hits in its first day following its release earlier this year.

BTS is also recognised as the first K-Pop act to top the U.S. albums charts with both of their last releases - 2018's "Love Yourself: Tear" and 2019's "Map of the Soul: Persona", reports Billboard.
