Through a post on Instagram, Karen Meyers shares that the family and the estate prefer no involvement from people who personally know the late 'Self Care' rapper.

AceShowbiz - Mac Miller's mother Karen Meyers has hit out at publishers releasing an unauthorized biography on her late son.

Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol last year (2018). He was just 26 years old.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, October 18, Karen warned her followers about an unauthorized biography in the works and pleaded with those close to the late rapper to not participate.

"To artists, management & friends: there is a writer doing a Mac Miller biography that some of you have been approached about or will be," the post reads. "This book is not authorized/approved by Mac's family or Estate. We are not participating and prefer you don't either if you personally knew Malcolm."

While she didn't reveal further information about the project, Mac's estate have strongly defended his legacy since his death, halting a documentary on the star back in June.

Cameron James Pettit, Stephen 'Stevie' Walter and Ryan Reavis have been charged in relation to the star's death, with prosecutors claiming Walter, via Reavis, provided Pettit with counterfeit oxycodone containing fentanyl, which he then sold to the embattled star two days before his fatal overdose.

Earlier this month, Pettit pleaded not guilty to the offence.
