AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle got emotional in a rare interview during her royal tour of Africa with husband Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex seemed to choke back tears as she opened up on her struggles as a new mom while adjusting to her new life as a royal that put her under intense media scrutiny.

"Look, any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable. And so that was made really challenging, and then, when you have a newborn, you know?" she said. "Especially as a woman it's really - it's a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or just trying to be a newlywed."

"And also thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I'm OK," she added while struggling to contain her emotions, "but it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."

The host then asked, "Would it be fair to say, not really OK, as in it's really been a struggle?" The brunette beauty answered, "Yes."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry talked about the grief over his mother Princess Diana's tragic death, describing it as a "wound that festers." He said it was difficult for him to face camera because it reminded him of how she died while being followed by paparazzi.

"I think [of] being part of this family, in this role, in this job every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash," he explained. "It takes me straight back, so in that respect it's the worst reminder of her life as opposed to the best."

"Being here now 22 years later, trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional but everything that I do reminds me of her," Harry went on. "But as I said, with the role, with the job, and the sort of the pressures that come with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff usually."
