AceShowbiz - Tamron Hall has broken her silence after a new report surfaced of her confessing to helping "facilitate" the sell of cocaine back when she was a teenager. Issuing a statement, the 49-year-old broadcast journalist denied she ever sold drugs, but admitted she had once made bad decision when she was a teenager.
Stressing that she "never dealt drugs," Hall said, "I am now nearly 50 years old and was reflecting on a bad judgment call that could have turned worse. I say but for the grace of God, there go I. It was part of an open and honest conversation about women, incarceration and mistakes made."
Her statement arrived just hours after Daily Mail reported that the producers of her talk show "Tamron Hall" were "left scrambling to edit" the show as she "confessed to viewers she used to facilitate selling cocaine when she was a teenager" with her college boyfriend. While Tamron confirmed that some parts from the show were edited out, she suggested that it wasn't her confession.
"For legal reasons a portion of that segment was edited from the show," she continued in her statement, adding, "I hope my show can be a forum for sharing stories without a shame or judgment -- including a conversation we're having Friday on opioid addiction."
Hall launched her talk show in September after leaving NBC in February 2017, when the network announced that she was losing her timeslot co-hosting "Today" third hour at 9 A.M. to Megyn Kelly. At the time, Hall admitted to reaching the low point in her life. Fortunately, she managed to overcome it and claimed that she had never been happier than before.
She told PEOPLE last month, "I feel fortunate and I feel it's a reminder to everyone to not give up on your dreams and to bet on yourself. I'm very grateful... A year ago I could not have imagined this."
