AceShowbiz - Matt Lauer may never want Ann Curry to spill all on him. Curry, who departed from "Today" back in 2012, has not revaled clear details about the sexual conduct allegations against the disgraced star, but a new report claims that she can easily "destroy" Lauer if she decides to speak out.
"Ann has maintained a dignified silence, but a lot of people confided in her years ago and still do to this day," a source reveals to Us Weekly about Curry, who co-hosted the NBC talkshow alongside Lauer from 1997 to 2012. "She knows more than most about the man Matt really is, and when she finally speaks out, it will destroy him."
In a new book by Ronan Farrow titled "Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators", Curry said that complaints about Lauer's treatment of women were well-known during her tenure at NBC. She also claimed to have reported Lauer for sexual harassment on behalf of a colleague in 2012, though the network denied. "I told them that they had a problem in him," she revealed to Farrow. "That he had a problem with women. That they had to keep an eye on him."
In the new book, a former NBC employee also accused Lauer of raping her at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. "It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent," she said. "It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn't want to have anal sex."
Lauer denied the allegations. Writing in a lengthy statement, the former TV host categorized the incident as an "extramarital, but consensual, sexual encounter." He also and claimed that her assertion that it was assault was "categorically false."
