AceShowbiz - Zooey Deschanel clearly didn't need a long time to move on after splitting from her husband Jacob Pechenik. The "500 Days of Summer" star has been revealed to be dating "Property Brothers" star Jonathan Scott, just a week after announcing the end of her second marriage.
The new couple was spotted stepping out for a dinner date on Friday, September 13. In some pictures obtained by HollywoodLife, the lovebirds didn't try to hide their relationship as they were seen holding hands when arriving at Little Dom's restaurant in Silver Lake, California. The two flashed a smile when they noticed a paparazzo took their pictures.
The 39-year-old actress looked effortlessly pretty in a blue-and-white striped knee-length dress paired with silver pointed shoes. She carried a shoulder bag and put on some makeup. Meanwhile, the 41-year-old reality TV star and contractor looked stylish in a navy blue shirt, a baby blue jacket and dark gray pants with a brown belt and blue-and-white sneakers.
Zooey and Jacob reportedly hit it off after they met during the filming of a "Carpool Karaoke" segment for James Corden with her sister Emily Deschanel and his twin brother Drew Scott in August. "They started out as friends," a so-called insider dishes on the couple's unexpected romance. "They've been out a few times and seem to want to keep the romance on the quieter side. It's pretty new still."
The source adds, "They seem to like each other a lot and Jonathan travels a lot, but they see one another when they can. They both seem pretty happy and into it so far. It's still very, very new. She's been separated for several months from Jacob. She's just very private. It's still very new and she wasn't really looking to date, but she and Jonathan hit it off unexpectedly."
Zooey and film producer Jacob got engaged in January 2015 and married in June of the same year. They have two children together, a 4-year-old daughter named Elsie and a 2-year-old son named Charlie. "After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners," the couple said in a statement announcing their split earlier this month. "We remain committed to our business, our values, and most of all, our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time."
The "New Girl" alum was previously married to musician Ben Gibbard, the lead vocalist for Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, from 2009 until they announced their separation in November 2011. Their divorce was finalized a year later in December 2012.
