Atlantic Records has reportedly made a six-figure donation to the charity that provides opportunities for young creatives, while Puma pledges to contribute proceeds from their upcoming collection.

AceShowbiz - The family of late rapper Nipsey Hussle has started a neighbourhood outreach initiative in his honour.

The Neighborhood Nip Foundation has been unveiled as a tribute to the slain star, who was born Ermias Asghedom, and his philanthropic efforts towards his community of South Los Angeles. Bosses at the organisation will help to provide opportunities for young creatives hoping to find their way in the music business.

Executives at Atlantic Records, the label behind Hussle's final album "Victory Lap", have already made a six-figure donation to the charity.

"Nipsey will be forever missed, but his courageous, generous spirit lives on in his incredible music and the impact he made on the community," Atlantic Records Chairmen Craig Kallman and Julie Greenwald said in a joint statement. "Nip's love for the generation coming up behind him is a big part of what's inspiring this foundation, and we're proud to celebrate his life by supporting his legacy."

Bosses at Puma have also pledged to contribute proceeds from their upcoming Puma x TMC capsule collection to the Neighborhood Nip Foundation. The label joined forces with Asghedom on a collection prior to his death which will be available for purchase from 5 September.

"Nipsey always put his community first and we know he wouldn't want it any other way," a statement on the brand's Instagram account reads.

The artist died in March after he was gunned down outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles.
