AceShowbiz - "Collide" singer Howie Day has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend in a Manhattan, New York hotel.
The 34-year-old was charged with assault and arraigned on Saturday, August 24 in Manhattan Criminal Court, according to Page Six.
Police reports suggest he grabbed the unnamed woman during a fight on Friday afternoon.
According to prosecutors he told police officers he was "going through Xanax withdrawal" as he was being taken into custody.
The alleged victim sought medical attention after the reported assault and has been granted a protection order against Day, who also faces charges of criminal obstruction of breathing, assault, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
