The British singer makes the revelation when he and Charlamagne Tha God of iHeart Radio are discussing his newly-released album 'No. 6 Collaborations Project'.

AceShowbiz - The rumors are true, everyone! Months after speculation arose that Ed Sheeran and his longtime lover Cherry Seaborn had tied the knot, the British singer confirmed the rumors during an interview with Charlamagne Tha God of iHeart Radio.

Ed and Charlamagne were discussing songs from his newly-released album "No. 6 Collaborations Project" when the former dropped the bombshell. Talking about a verse from his 50 Cent and Eminem collaboration "Remember the Name" that read, "My wife wears red, but looks better without lipstick," Ed said, "It was actually before me and Cherry got married and I knew that we'd be married by the point that the song came out."

He continued, "[I thought] Someone's gonna hear that and be like, 'Oh, they're married!' I didn't know how that would be construed, but obviously it's already come out."

Ed also mentioned his nuptials when discussing the lead single off the album, "I Don't Care" featuring Justin Bieber. He revealed that Cherry was the one who suggested him to collaborate with the Canadian singer because of their similarity. "Bieber just got married. I'd just got married," the "Perfect" singer said. "The song is about being at an industry event with the woman you love, or the person you love, and kind of being like, 'F**k this, let's just have fun ourselves.' "

While Ed didn't give further details about his marriage, previous report stated that the couple wedded at their home in Suffolk, England just before Christmas. It was said that they only invited around 40 friends and family members, without any celebrities attending the event. "He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them just a tiny winter wedding," a source said at the time. "Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it."

Ed first met Cherry when he was still 11, but their relationship didn't turn romantic until the summer of 2015, when he invited her to Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party. They got engaged in January 2018.
