Reflecting on the controversy over the name of her skin-tone coloured underwear line, the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star admits she should have thought it through 'a little bit deeper.'

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian regrets not thinking through the name of her Kimono Solutionwear brand "a little deeper."

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star unveiled her latest venture, a collection of skin-tone coloured control underwear, in an Instagram post last month (June 2019), and was quickly inundated with messages from fans, who accused the mother-of-four of cultural appropriation.

The 38-year-old initially defended the brand name, calling it a "nod to the beauty and detail that goes into a garment", but later announced she planned to rename the collection.

Reflecting on the controversy in an interview with WSJ. Magazine, Kim refuted claims she was cashing in on Japanese culture, and insisted the mix-up was completely "innocent."

"You would think we would have obviously thought it through a little bit deeper," the KKW Beauty mogul shared. "I'm the first person to say: 'Okay, of course, I can't believe we didn't think of this.' I obviously had really innocent intentions. But, let's listen. And I want to really listen. And I want to really take it all in."

Kim went on to assure fans she and husband Kanye West have "such respect" for Japanese culture, adding: "(Kanye) was in Japan when all of this was happening. It's a place that we love and go to."

Following the negative response to the line, Kim apologised to fans and announced plans to relaunch the venture under a different name.

"I am always listening, learning and growing - I so appreciate the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me," she tweeted. "After careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.

"I will be in touch soon.Thank you for your understanding and support always."
