Brian Jones' Daughter Wants Police to Reopen Rocker's Mysterious Death Investigation

Believing that The Rolling Stones founder was murdered, Barbara Marion insists in an interview with Sky News that police officials 'did not investigate it the way they should have.'

AceShowbiz - Tragic The Rolling Stones star Brian Jones' daughter has marked the 50th anniversary of her father's mysterious death by insisting the rocker was murdered.

The band's 27-year-old founder was found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool at Cotchford Farm in East Sussex, England on 3 July, 1969, and now his daughter, Barbara Marion, has shared her thoughts on his passing.

Speaking to Sky News, she insists her dad's death was not an accident and police officials botched the investigation.

"I think he was murdered and I think the police did not investigate it the way they should have," she told the news outlet. "I would love to have them reopen it and to get some answers."

A coroner ultimately recorded the hellraising rocker's death as misadventure, but Marion, who only learned she was Jones' lovechild in 2002, has carried out her own research, and insists someone claimed her dad's life.

Sussex Police reviewed Jones' death in 2009 following a series of murder conspiracies, and earlier this year, a spokesperson said, "From time to time over the past 49 years Sussex Police have also received messages or reports from journalists and other individuals about the death. Each is considered on its individual merits and reviewed wherever appropriate."

"No such report has been received since 2010 and no new evidence has emerged to suggest that the coroner's original verdict of 'death by misadventure' was incorrect. The case has not been reopened and there are no plans for that to happen."
