In a statement about the season finale, the actress portraying Frances Dufresne expresses her confidence that showrunner Liz Tuccillo will be able to achieve what they are all hoping for.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker's TV series "Divorce" will end after its current six-episode run.

The third season of the show, on which she and Thomas Haden Church play estranged couple Frances and Robert Dufresne, began on Monday night (July 01), and now Parker has confirmed there won't be a fourth series.

"It feels to me as if the first season we were pretty entrenched in battle and it was not surprising to reveal that neither (characters) Frances nor Robert were very good at divorce; most people aren't," the actress says in a statement to Deadline. "By the end of last season, it started to feel as if Frances had made peace with the unforeseen complexities of being free from the marriage."

"So this season feels like a genuine fresh start. For both Frances and Robert, it appears as if they're on a path that feels more in their control."

She adds, "Between scheduling and complicated lives and actors, it was a confluence of things that came together that helped us decide that six (episodes) was something that we wanted to do, and we felt confidence that Liz (Tuccillo, showrunner) could achieve what we were all hoping for for this final look at Frances and Robert."
