AceShowbiz - Cardi B is currently gearing up for the release of the music video for her latest single "Press". Just one day before the premiere, the female emcee took to her social media accounts to share a less-than-30-second trailer of the visuals.
In the clip, Cardi is seen being pushed into an investigation room as she struggles to get away from the officer. However, later on, the "Bartier Cardi" rapper takes control of the situation as she is seen sitting on the table while smoking in front of her investigator. She even has the guts to blow the smoke in the investigator's face, and he clearly doesn't like it.
The full version of the music video will be making its way out on Wednesday, June 26 at 10 A.M.
Following a snippet that was shared in December 2018, "Press" was released on May 31 to generally positive reviews. Many noted the evolution of her attitude towards the media in the lyrics from previous songs such as "Bartier Cardi" and Offset collaboration "Clout", with NME calling it "defiant." Pitchfork, meanwhile, praised Cardi for being "fully ready to take aim at any haters" while stating that she had "sharpened her rapping abilities to deadly effect" in the song.
"Press" debuted at No. 16 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and at No. 6 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The former "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star debuted televised performance of the song at the 2019 BET Awards on Sunday, June 23.
"Press" will likely be included on her forthcoming sophomore album, which she hopes will be released before 2020. "I'm starting to prepare myself now because I'm really trying to put out an album for this year," Cardi previously said. "My last album, 'Invasion of Privacy', it just went three times platinum, so now it's just like, 'Aw snap. It's big pressure on me.' It's like, 'Aw snap, what the hell am I going to come up with?' "
