The 'On the Basis of Sex' actor has been locked in a civil court fight with Norman Resnicow after falling out over renovations he and then-wife Jennifer Aniston were having done to their apartment.

AceShowbiz - Justin Theroux has emerged victorious in his two-year dispute with his neighbour after a New York City judge ruled the actor is the rightful owner of a contested roof deck.

The "Leftovers" star had been locked in a long civil court fight with Norman Resnicow, who lives below Theroux's exclusive Greenwich Village apartment, after falling out over renovations the 47-year-old and his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, were having done to the home.

The legal action turned nasty as Resnicow, a real estate attorney, was accused of trespassing on Theroux's outdoor terrace, peeping in windows, harassing his construction workers, and threatening to cut off water and electricity to the deck, leading the actor to obtain a restraining order against his neighbour.

The case returned to court on Tuesday (June 25), when the judge declared the roof deck at the centre of the war had always belonged to Theroux, meaning Resnicow would be trespassing if he set foot on the property uninvited ever again, reports TMZ.

Representatives for the actor have yet to comment on the court win.
