In an open letter to his fans, the voice actor behind Winnie the Pooh insists that the sexual and animal abuse claims made by Stephanie are 'baseless and only intended to harm him'.

AceShowbiz - Veteran Disney voice actor Jim Cummings has accused his ex-wife of trying to extort him.

The 66-year-old, who has voiced Winnie the Pooh onscreen for decades, said accusations of rape and animal abuse made by his former wife Stephanie "are baseless and only intended to harm my good name and my position as the voice of many, many beloved characters."

Stephanie claimed that Jim "engaged in physical, sexual and emotional abuse" according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

Stephanie, who split from her former husband in 2011, alleged that Jim had raped her in 2013 and would often grope her. She also claimed that he abused the family dog.

In an open letter to his fans published on his website, Jim said his legal team is working on stopping, "the propagation of these baseless accusations, out right (sic) lies, and false quotes."

He called the allegations "a clear attempt to extort me," adding he has contacted the FBI and local authorities.

The couple shares two daughters, and is currently embroiled in a custody battle in Los Angeles court.
