AceShowbiz - The comparison between Cardi B and fellow rapper Nicki Minaj has yet to end. The two rap stars were among the celebrities who hit the Met Ball on Monday, May 6. The "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker opted for a dramatic red gown for her look at the 2019 Met Gala, and fans seemingly found it suspiciously similar to what Nicki donned at the same event last year.
Cardi turned heads at the big event as she arrived in an ensemble which featured an extremely long train that she needed eight people to carry her blood-red dress. The mother of one made sure that everyone's attention was on her as she made a big entrance in the gown which was decorated with 30,000 burned and dyed coque feathers. It was said that it took 35 people more than 2,000 hours to create.
For the event, which theme was "Camp: Notes on Fashion", the Grammy-winning rapper matched the hand-embroidered Thom Browne gown with a matching headpiece from Stephen Jones.
Meanwhile, fans couldn't help but compare it with Nicki's attire in the 2018 Met Gala. Last year, Nicki stunned in an exquisite Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a plunging neckline, dramatic red headpiece and a super long train. The "Anaconda" spitter also wore a headpiece to further add glam in her look.
"Cardi's inspiration for today was Nicki," one fan said of Cardi's style at the 2019 event. "Nicki is an obsession," one other added.
However, some other fans jumped to Cardi's defense, saying that the accusation was a "reach." Another fan also tweeted, "except Cardi did it better."
Meanwhile, Nicki looked like a real-life Barbie while gracing the red carpet at the 2019 Met Gala. Nicki showed off her enviable bod in her custom Prabal Gurung blush dress featuring hand-embroidered chandelier crystals and a silk taffeta train. The pink-haired star teamed it with custom pink satin and Swarovski Crystal Brother Vellies heels.
This arrives after Cardi asked people to stop "putting me against others." Earlier this month, the wife of Offset tweeted, "What another b***h eat don't make me s**t.Theres enough room for everybody in the game.Stop comparing and constantly putting me against others."
