'Things are getting tense between Britney and Lynne right now,' says a source of the 37-year-old global superstar and her mom after she sought professional treatment earlier this month.

AceShowbiz - Amid her journey of recovering from a mental health issue, Britney Spears is still thinking about her fans. As the pop star is aware that her fans are concerned about her well-being, the 37-year-old singer is said to be wanting to do an interview to assure them that she's okay. However, her mother Lynne Spears apparently doesn't think it is a good idea.

"Britney wants to do an interview because she knows her fans are so worried," a source reveals to Radar Online. "But [Lynne]'s up against opposition due to the fact that every interview she’s done after a meltdown is always a hot mess."

"Things are getting tense between Britney and Lynne right now," adds the insider.

"Lynne literally shut her down on an interview and also is talking to Britney like she's a little kid," notes the source. It is also said that the singer's mom is "up her a** 24/7."

The "Toxic" hitmaker is currently undergoing intensive outpatient treatment after completing a 30-day stay at a mental health facility on April 25. She checked herself into the rehab to stabilize her medication and cope with her father Jamie's health crisis, following his hospitalisation and various surgeries for a ruptured colon.

Britney is said to be determined to recover as soon as possible. "Britney knows if she doesn't follow the rules she could lose the progress she's made," shares the source. "Britney just wants her mom to leave her alone and the more Lynne pulls the more Britney pushes."

Her boyfriend Sam Asghari has been supportive for her during the hard time. He was spotted picking up the singer when she checked out of the undisclosed medical centre. The pop superstar reportedly voluntarily signed up for a 30-day stay at a wellness clinic, but rumors suggested the 37-year-old was being held there against her will recently emerged, prompting some devotees to stage a "Free Britney" protest in Los Angeles on Monday.

Britney herself shot down the allegations on Tuesday in a video message she shared with fans via Instagram. "Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who have been concerned about me," she said. "All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal. But don't worry I will be back very soon."
