The 48-year-old actress, who played Brenda Walsh on the original FOX series, took to her Instagram account to confirm the news, almost two months after the network first announced the semi-revival.

AceShowbiz - It's official! It has been confirmed that the upcoming "Beverly Hills 90210" reunion series will feature almost the whole gang after Shannen Doherty announces her involvement in the FOX semi-revival.

Shannen, who played Brenda Walsh on the original series, took to her Instagram account to confirm the news. "Yes it's official. The real question is.... will we still be rocking those outfits. #bh90210," the 48-year-old wrote alongside a throwback picture of the cast members.

The new iteration, which is now called "BH90210", was announced back in February. Starring original stars Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Ian Ziering among others, the series will see them playing "heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialized drama – with a healthy dose of irreverence -- that is inspired by their real lives and relationships."

"Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Shannen, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it's time to get a 'Beverly Hills, 90210' reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself," the official logline of "BH90210" states.

"What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast -- whom the whole world watched grow up together -- attempts to continue from where they left off?" it continues.

Spelling previously explained that the new show was not "technically a reboot, because I feel like everyone has seen the reboot." She continued saying during her appearance on E! Daily Pop earlier this year, "We don't want to be the last ones like doing the reboot thing, and no one wants to see like old versions of ourselves, but they do want to see us playing our characters, so what we're doing is the entire cast is playing heightened versions of themselves."

"BH90210" is set to air sometime this summer on FOX.
