It is based on the podcast which has been brought into many forms of adaptations, including a book titled 'Bad Blood', an ABC 20.20 documentary as well as an HBO documentary called 'The Inventor'.

AceShowbiz - Hulu has announced that it has ordered a limited series titled "The Dropout", which tackles Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos. "Saturday Night Live" star Kate McKinnon has been cast to play Holmes for the drama, prompting many to applaud the decision of such a perfect casting. Deadline is the first to report.

The series is based on ABC News/ABC Radio's podcast that talks about the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. In addition to starring, McKinnon will reportedly executive produce alongside ABC News correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson. Jarvis, Dunn and Thompson also produced the podcast.

The podcast description reads, "The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as 'the next Steve Jobs' find herself facing criminal charges -- to which she pleaded not guilty -- and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way?"

Prior to "The Dropout", the podcast has been brought into many forms of adaptations, including a book titled "Bad Blood", an ABC 20.20 documentary as well as an HBO documentary called "The Inventor". All of them tell a story about Holmes' career after she dropped out of Stanford. She managed to gather investors for a blood test that required only a single drop of blood to test for a myriad of conditions, but didn't actually work at all. Holmes is currently facing up to 20 years in prison.

Just like Steve Jobs from Apple, she has her signature fashion style with her black turtleneck. She's also known for her deep voice, though some people have been questioning the legitimacy.

McKinnon is no stranger to doing an impression. The Emmy-winning actress is known for her impersonations of Kellyanne Conway, Hillary Clinton and Justin Bieber among others on "SNL".

Also hailing from Fox Searchlight, "The Dropout" has yet to have a premiere date.
