The 'Game of Thrones' co-stars are happy to take part on the promo video project because they both feel drawn to Freya's voice which Lena described as 'sort of storytelling.'

AceShowbiz - Actress Lena Headey has flexed her directing skills for a moving new music video, starring her "Game of Thrones" castmate Maisie Williams.

The emotionally stirring promo for singer Freya Ridings' track "You Mean the World to Me" features Maisie's character having a series of emotional connections with her divorced father, played by fellow Brit Steven Waddington.

Lena jumped at the chance to direct the promo, telling Zane Lowe on Apple Music's Beat 1 Radio, "I think Freya's voice is undeniable in its sort of storytelling. When I heard the song, I just thought of family, and then I spoke to Freya, and she said she wrote it about family. And then, the story, basically, kind of grew a little bit."

"It's pretty universal in that sometimes things don't always work out, and people don't stay together, and kids are very insightful."

Maisie was also moved by Freya's song and was happy to star in Headey's video.

"I had such an emotional response to Freya's voice and the song," she said. "We had a few versions of this video, some were considered too dark. I think we achieved a version that allows us to see Freya in a raw, emotional performance. And the family element is what the song is all about."
