Zinzi Evans showed off her baby bump in a strapless black dress on the red carpet when she accompanied her filmmaker husband to the 2019 Academy Awards.

AceShowbiz - "Black Panther" director Ryan Coogler and wife Zinzi Evans are expecting their first child.

The couple revealed the pregnancy news at the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24, when Zinzi showed off her baby bump in a strapless black dress as she hit the red carpet with Ryan and his "Black Panther" cast including Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright.

Evans' hairstylist Alexander Armand had actually revealed the news days before by sharing a picture of the couple glammed up ahead of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Awards, with Evans displaying a large bump in a figure-hugging emerald dress.

Neither Coogler and Evans, who began dating in college and got married in 2016, have public social media accounts or have commented on the pregnancy, but the 32-year-old "Creed" director told YBF in 2018 that he wanted to have daughters.

"I found I want daughters real, real bad," he said. "Like plural. I thought, making 'Fruitvale Station', I want kids. But like, on this one, I have to have some daughters."

The couple was at the Oscars to support "Black Panther", which was the first superhero film to be nominated for an Academy Award. It was nominated in seven categories, including Best Picture, and won three.
